Where we offer the Local Border Traffic tickets

  • at sales points
  • on the train without surcharge, if boarding in a station with no ticket-purchase possibility, in case the train drives within the territory of the Local Border Traffic
  • online via train connection search on this website (please click the instruction figure)
  • Up to 45 km distance from the border in Slovakia and up to 50 km distance in the Czech Republic, the prices are close to the domestic fares
  • The Local Border Traffic can be used in the 2nd Class on the regional express trains (REX), the regular passenger trains (Os), fast trains (R) and regional fast trains (RR), not on the SC, EC, IC, EN, Ex trains
  • A single ticket is valid until 6 am of the following day, the journey has to be started on first day of validity
  • the return ticket is valid for 2 days until 12 p.m. of the day following the first day of validity, if the ticket is purchased online, the journey has to be started on first day of validity
  • the ticket purchased online can use only the person whose name is on the ticket. The ticket is valid in the train, on which is was purchased and in the next trains under the terms described above.
  • you can return the ticket purchased at the ticket desk latest one day prior to the day its validity starts, with the cancellation fee of 10 % (minimum 1 €)
  • you can cancel the ticket purchased online via the online form prior to the regular departure of the train from boarding station, with the cancellation fee of 10 % (minimum 1 €)

The fare is calculated as the total of the fare for the km distance travelled on the territory of Slovak republic and Czech republic. There is a difference between cathegories of children in the direction from ČD to ZSSK (on ČD) and from ZSSK to ČD, because of ČD considers as a child all passengers in age 6 to 18, but ZSSK in age 6 to 16.
