How to get this type of ticket

  • the season ticket for selected routes can be obtained online (in Slovak version) or at ZSSK ticket-desks,
  • in form as any other regular ticket or on contactless chip card (if issued until 30th June 2016),


Prices

  • The price depends on the distance for which the seasonal ticket will be issued as well as the time period of its validity.
  • The advantage of the season ticket is the distinctive discount compared to the regular single fare – it is 50% for 2nd Class and over 50% for the 1st Class (calculated for single journey).
  • The discount is more convenient with the increased number of journeys realized with the ticket. The ticket can be used for an unlimited number of travels on the selected route (stations stated in the ticket) within the pre-paid time (season).

Use and validity

  • EuroCity trains (EC): No fee
  • SuperCity trains (SC): 1 € fee in the 2nd Class and 3 € fee in the 1st Class (includes reservation)
  • InterCity trains (IC): with the supplement according to the pricelist

The season tickets can be also used in the fast trains, regional fast trains, express trains and in the trains of REX category. In the trains of the higher categories, the rules for travel with the season ticket are following:


Travelling by train in the High Tatras region

The season tickets are not valid on the tracks of the Tatra Electric Railways (TEŽ). Passengers can purchase a special Season Rail Pass.


Tips

Tip: Do you ride a bike? You can purchase a convenient weekly/monthly ticket for your bike valid on Os and REX train categories. The price is 4 € for one week or 8 € for one month.

*Full fare is counted as a single regular fare multiplied by 5 for a week and multiplied by 20 for a month (resp. 10x and 40x for the return journey). The discount REGIONAL is provided for the journeys up to 60 km, but only for the ordinary passenger trains and the REX trains, not for the fast trains.
