We connect the High Tatras with eco-friendly transport

• available at ZSSK ticket-desks,  in the E-shop and in the IDeme vlakom mobile app,
• you don’t need to know the distance you travel,
• single tickets from Poprad-Tatry station via Starý Smokovec to Tatranská Lomnica are also valid on the line via Studený Potok,
• take advantage of the ZSSK ID Customer Account,
• if the ticket does not indicate the start of validity, please stamp it in the ticket stamping machine immediately after boarding the train.

Single fares of the Tatra Electric Railway and the Cog Railway

* The price includes transport of a bicycle or luggage on the TEŽ and OŽ lines.

Reduced single fares apply to

• Holders of KLASIK and JUNIOR cards,
• holders of the Disabled Persons’ Card ŤZP and ŤZP-S,
• parents on their way to visit physically, mentally or sensory disabled or chronically ill children placed in institutions in the territory of the Slovak Republic and to visit children in institutions for social protection of children and social guardianship,
• owners to transport dogs,
• children from the age of 6 to the age of 16 with any ID with a current photo, name, surname and date of birth (if they do not benefit from a 100% discount on the fare),
• pupil/student card holders (unless they benefit from a 100 % fare discount).

Citizens over 70 years of age, if they do not benefit from the 100% fare discount, pay a flat rate of € 0.50 on the entire line of the Tatra Electric Railway and the Cog Railway (for a maximum distance of 34 km). The ticket is valid for the journey on the given day, including the transfer to the nearest connecting service.

Returning the block tickets

With immediate effect until 30 June 2025, it is possible to return unused “block tickets” bought before 31 December 2024, due to the change of the VAT rate from 1 January 2025, i.e.:

• Block ticket for TEŽ and OŽ for 0,50 EUR_ZSSK 33245
• Block ticket for TEŽ and OŽ for EUR 0,25_ZSSK 33246
• Block ticket for TEŽ and OŽ for EUR 1,00_ZSSK 33371
• Block ticket for TEŽ and OŽ for EUR 2,00_ZSSK 33568
• Pass for TEŽ – 1-day regular ZSSK 33568

Customers may return the mentioned tickets at ZSSK ticket-desks in the High Tatras, i.e. Poprad-Tatry, Starý Smokovec, Štrba, Štrbské Pleso and Tatranská Lomnica.

The price of the refunded ticket will be paid to the customer in cash at the ticket-desk based on the form Request for Refund of Fare/Reclamation of ZSSK Fare 073514178/33088.

Types of single-use tickets eligible for refund

• Enjoy unlimited travel on the lines of the Tatra Electric Railway and Cog Railway (Štrba – Štrbské Pleso, Poprad-Tatry – Štrbské Pleso and Starý Smokovec – Tatranská Lomnica) during the validity period of the ticket,
• tickets are also valid on the line Poprad-Tatry – Studený Potok – Tatranská Lomnica,,
• If the ticket does not indicate the start of validity, please stamp it in the ticket stamping machine immediately after boarding the train,
• available:
  • at the ticket-desk, in  E-shop and in the mobile app IDeme vlakom
  • in the mobile vending machine on the Tatra Electric Railway and Cog Railway lines – only the 24-hour regular pass (€ 6) and the bicycle/ luggage ticket (€ 2.50),

For the ticket to be valid, please write the holder’s name and surname directly on the ticket when using seasonal passes (except 24-hour tickets) and the weekly passes for bicycle and luggage. In addition to the weekly and monthly passes, you can buy a line pass for transporting a bicycle valid for the same High Tatra lines as the pass.

For a weekly pass you will pay 4 €, for a monthly pass 8 €.

Conditions and validity of SMS tickets

Claims

• The SMS ticket cannot be refunded due to a reason on the passenger’s side. However, a refund is possible if the ticket is not used due to the cause attributable to the carrier,

• Please indicate the telephone number from which the purchase was made, date, time of purchase, SMS ticket code, account number and relevant documents to prove the validity of the request.
