What is EUROPA REGIONAL?
- Tickets can be purchased up to 45 kilometres from the border in in the Slovak Republic and up to 50 kilometres in the Czech Republic
- Tickets can be used in 2nd class on passenger trains, regional expresses and fast trains (Os, REX and R) operated by ZSSK and ČD, they cannot be used on IC, SC, EC, EN and Ex trains (on the line section Kúty – Břeclav tickets are valid on all trains)
- A one-way ticket is valid until 6:00 a.m. the following morning, and the journey must be started on the first day of validity
- Return ticket for two days until 24:00 on the next day of validity, with a ticket purchased online you have to start your journey there on the first day of validity
How can a ticket be returned?
- Tickets purchased at the ticket-desks can be returned no later than the day before the first day of validity with a penalty of 10% (at least €1)
- Tickets purchased online can be returned via the online form until the train departs from the passenger’s boarding station with a penalty of 10% (at least €1)
Prices
The fare is calculated as the sum of the fare for the relevant kilometre distance on the territory of the Slovak Republic and the territory of the Czech Republic. Children are considered differently on ČD and ZSSK. On ČD, a child is considered to be a passenger aged 6-18 years, while on ZSSK a child is aged 6-16 years.

Children aged 5 to 6 years old may also need an ID and travel free of charge without having to purchase a ticket.
