Sale Points and Reservations

Our multi-functional information system KVC - Complex Ticket Service is tailor-made to handle our customers requirements. This electronic reservation system provides following services, including ticket sale 60 days in advance (telephonic requests are not handled):

  • reservations and sale of all domestic travel documents,
  • sale of all international travel documents,
  • possibility to pay with a bank card,
  • sales of seat reservations and ordering additional reservations if necessary.

In selected railway stations equipped with KVC terminals, it is possible to buy travel documents by direct debit through payment or credit cards.

The KVC information system enables to reserve seats in a train with the following time limits:

  • Reservations: 60 days – 10 minutes before the train departure from the given station
  • Couchette and berth: 60 days – 2 hours before the train departure from the first station
  • Couchette and berth tickets may be subsequently bought onboard the train from the train guard.

Seat reservation at the Reservation Centre

The Reservation Centre offers following services above the usual standards:
- preferential reservations in the time limit of 63-61 days before the train departure from the first station from the reservation database iKVC. Note that this time limit may be shorter when a new timetable is being launched.
- Reservation of seats, coouchettes/berths from  foreign railway companies databases
- Reservation of seats, coouchettes/berths for  foreign railway companies
- Processing of special orders, additional coaches requests, orders of coaches for organized groups, orders of special trains


Our employees at the Reservation Centre are at your disposal daily from 7.15 am to 5.15 pm in the premises of the old entrance hall of the main railway station in Bratislava or on this telephone number: 02/20295508. You can also send your requests via fax or e-mail.

International transport

Seat reservation for trains departing from the Slovak Republic abroad
It is not possible to book a seat (without paying for the reservation) for trains departing from the Slovak Republic abroad.
In case of seat reservations for trains departing from the Slovak Republic abroad, the same rules apply as for domestic transport.
It is possible to request seat reservations, couchettes and berths, and a car space reservation (in case of car-carrying trains) for trains departing from stations in other states, generally at the latest 6 – 24 hours before the train departure from the first station (the time limits are set up by the relevant railway undertaking).
For IC, EC and fast trains departing from Slovakia the sale is terminated 2 hours before the train departure from the first station.
Reserved seats are marked inside the coach.

Returning of purchased travel documents

It is possible to return already purchased travel documents:

  • Seat reservation: 60 days – 10 minutes before the train departure from the given station
  • No refund is paid for a returned seat reservation (with the exceptions stated in the Transport Terms and Conditions of ZSSK)
  • Couchette and berth reservation: 60 days – 2 hours before the regular train departure from the first station
  • For each returned place (couchette/berth) a cancelling fee of 0,33 EUR is deducted (with the exceptions stated in the Transport Terms and Conditions of ZSSK)
